The story so far...

An obsessive reader and writer, Tanya is a graduate of a double BA in Literature Composition and Communications from Griffith University. She loves nothing more than to sit down with a good book and lose herself for hours on end. When she is not reading she is writing. When she is not writing she is offering her considered opinion on another emerging writers work. Tanya has recently been appointed first Associate Editor at Literary Mix Tapes and lives and breathes stories. Here's hers...

Born and raised in country Victoria, Tanya escaped to the big city (Sydney) at her earliest opportunity (17 years young) to study Theatre and the dream of a life travelling the world, blowing away theatre audience with her amazingly insightful stage plays. Eighteen months later that pipe dream was carefully stored under a pile of dogeared play scripts along with a broken heart and she returned home to consider the next step.

The city bekoned, but this time the quieter town of Adelaide and off she drove in her beat up old chrysler to discover herself. Several jobs, some wonderful others not so, dozens of packing boxes, lots of laughter and tears and ten years on, one husband, two children and a couple of tragedies, she finally found herself in the glorious state of Queensland. And is currently living a sunny life on a tiny sunny island.

The little girl she lost some ten years ago was found some time in the last year, tucked in the back of an old closet, taking the form of her first attempt at creative writing. A faded and yellowed response to a unconvinced Danish girl from one hundred years previous, the girl wrote to her local paper questioning the reality of St Nicholas.  Tanya's letter set about to convince the girl that St Nicholas was indeed real. This wonderfully innocent little piece of writing recieved the grade five class award and the seed to write was planted.

Having re-enrolled in university to complete her degree Tanya delved into the deep dark world of creative writing with an abandonment of responsibility not seen since...well since she last left her children to eat unsupervised with a bottle of tomato sauce!

She has taken on a challenge to extend herself and joined every creative writing site known to computer nerd, is in the process of completely re-writing her first novel and has started writing five others (including a ten part adolescence series).

In short she is a very busy mum, juggling a very busy life and loving every minute of it. One thing Tanya vows never to forget is that life is way too short, totally unpredictable and that the only person that can make your dreams come true is yourself, so she is out there determined to do just that!
